Become a fruit picking volunteerPick Fruit

Community Fruit Harvesting encourages volunteers across New Zealand to pick fruit and deliver it to food banks in the community. You can volunteer to help in your street, suburb or a wider area.

If there is a group in your area, you can contact them and see if they need assistance. The volunteer will pick the fruit and deliver it to a local charity. Volunteers can keep a small amount of fruit, but most of it will go to the charity.

Volunteers will need their own transport and containers for fruit (trugs, buckets or plastic crates or plastic bags and banana boxes). Fruit picking equipment such as a ladder and a fruit picker to reach fruit at the top of the tree is ideal.

Volunteering is a great way to get involved in your community and meet like-minded people.
